I don’t hate children. I have two, and they’re delightful. They’re also animals who can make my life hell. Such is parenting. Likewise, I treat them with kindness, patience and love. And also sarcasm, pettiness and negligence.
This blog is based on the idea that the current generation of parents (of which I’m a part) is far too focused on what golden little angels their kids are, and what paragons of wisdom and self-awareness they themselves are. We’re all awful, and nothing brings it out like the parent-child relationship. There Is Nothing For You Here aims to underscore all the worst in being a parent and a child. If you’re looking for heartwarming stories about the lessons of togetherness we learn from the struggles, try pretty much any other parenting blog.
